Emergency Numbers for Local Gas Utilities

What is the role of my local distribution company?

The role of your local distribution company is to deliver natural gas and electricity to your location. Your local distribution company will continue to own the network of pipes and hydro lines that carry natural gas and electricity to homes and businesses.

Why does the utility commodity price fluctuate? How is this so?

The utility rate is a fluctuating rate that is an estimate of their energy costs. You may also be subject to retroactive price adjustments. Superior Energy offers peace of mind, a Price Protection Plan that gives you the opportunity to lock in your rates at a guaranteed price while avoiding future price increases.

A Price Protection Plan gives you:

  • A stable rate for your natural gas/electricity that won't increase for the entire term of your agreement
  • Control of your monthly natural gas/electricity bill
  • Ability to budget your monthly natural gas/electricity expenses
  • Peace of mind with predictable natural gas/electricity costs
  • Protection from your local utility's price adjustments for natural gas/electricity you've already used.

How and when are meters read?

Your local utility will continue to be responsible for reading your meter according to their meter schedule and billing cycle.

How long before my service starts with Superior Energy?

Your service will start with Superior Energy approximately 60 to 90 days after you sign up. This is the time required by the local distribution companies to process your account.

When should I call my local utility?

You should call your local utility if:

  • You do not have natural gas/electricity service
  • You are concerned about a possible gas leak or electricity safety problem
  • You have billing inquiries about automatic debit payment, equalized payment plan or the Superior Energy name not appearing on your bill

Whom do I call if I have trouble with my service?

If the trouble is of an emergency nature, contact your Local Distribution Company immediately.

If you experience a service interruption or other non-emergency problem, call your Local Distribution Company.
