What are the benefits of a natural gas price protection plan?
There is no risk of your natural gas commodity price going up and no retroactive commodity price adjustments. As in the past your utility delivers your natural gas and provides 24-hour, emergency service. There is no cost to enroll and no extra administrative cost.
A natural gas price protection plan gives you:
- A stable rate for your natural gas that won't increase for the entire term of your contract
- Control of your monthly natural gas bill
- Ability to budget your monthly gas expenses
- Peace of mind with predictable natural gas costs
- Protection from your local utility's price adjustments for gas you've already used.
Why should I purchase natural gas from Superior Energy, rather than from my local utility?
If you buy your natural gas from your local utility, the price you pay fluctuates month over month. With a Superior Price Protection Plan your natural gas rate is fixed and predictable for the entire term of the contract.
How long will it take for Superior Energy to become my natural gas supplier?
It takes approximately 60-90 days for your local utility to process your application once we have verified your application.
Could my Customer Registration be rejected?
Yes, your Customer Registration for a price protection plan could be rejected if any of the following conditions exists:
- You have an existing contract with another natural gas marketer
- The natural gas utility account and premise number you gave us is incorrect or missing
- The name on your price plan is not the same as the name on your gas utility bill
- The service address is not correct
- You already have an existing natural gas contract with Superior Energy
- Your application was received after the offer period expired
- You have an outstanding debt to your local utility.

What is a Notice of Appointment of Marketer and why do I have to sign it?
By signing the form, the customer acknowledges that they have entered into a supply agreement with the marketer and wish Terasen Gas to enroll the indicated premises in Commodity Unbundling Service. The form also provides Terasen Gas with the necessary authorization, as required under privacy legislation, to release historical and ongoing consumption history to the marketer.
Will I receive notification at the end of my contract term?
You will receive an advance written notice of the renewal 90-120 days before the date of renewal.
Can I be switched over to a new supplier without my knowledge or approval?
No, not legally. Under the British Columbia Utilities Commission’s codes of conduct that all natural gas retailers must abide by, a retailer can not supply natural gas to a customer without first obtaining written permission from the customer.
Why is enrolling in Superior Price Protection Plan better than buying from the local utility?
It gives you price certainty and peace of mind. It removes the risk of retroactive bill adjustments and rate fluctuation (increases) on your natural gas portion of the bill. This makes it easier for you to budget. There will still only be one natural gas bill to pay and you can use the same payment options you currently use. You will not see any changes to your natural gas services.
Why is Superior Energy’s Natural Gas Price Protection Plan better than the competition?
Superior Energy supplies large quantities of natural gas to many Fortune 500 companies. In making large purchases for its customer base, it is able to negotiate long-term contracts with gas producers that allow it to guarantee customers a fixed rate.
